PARCO BLEND PLATINUM CONTAINS:
Potassium
Turfgrass benefits from a high-potassium diet.
Fertilizing with increased levels of Potassium builds stress
resistance in quality turfgrasses. Since most Potassium sources
are high in salt, “turf burn” becomes
a high risk, but Parco Blend Platinum has the lowest salt index of
any major Potassium source, and is very low in chloride. Golf
course superintendents who use Parco Blend Platinum report that
their turfgrass has higher resistance to drought, better tolerance
to cold and wear, stronger roots and greater recovery rates.
Calcium
Turf on sandy soils (USGA greens), peat or muck
are most likely to show Calcium deficiencies. High rates of Potassium
applications may intensify Calcium deficiencies, so when feeding Potassium,
Calcium should also be applied. Stress conditions such as drought or
disease dramatically increase the need for Calcium. Heavy irrigation
of USGA greens can leach Calcium from the root zone, requiring regular
applications. Calcium will also enhance blade strength and durability,
and increase the availability of Phosphorous.
Iron
A component of Chlorophyll production, Iron in turf is one of the main
building blocks of turf health and color. Iron promotes dark, green,
healthy looking turf without excessive top growth. Iron, in conjunction
with Manganese are effective in the prevention and control of Bermuda
Grass Decline, Curvularia Blight, Take All Patch and other fungal
diseases.
Magnesium
Ideal for supporting turf in wet or cool soil conditions, and is a
major component in chlorophyll production. Magnesium acts as an
an enzyme catalyst.
Manganese
Manganese works in conjunction with Magnesium for chlorophyll production,
and assists in Nitrate assimilation. Manganese is an enzyme activator
causing trigger defense responses to attack from diseases and pests.
Zinc
Zinc assists protein synthesis and reverses transient
Zinc deficiencies when soils are wet or cold, Zinc assists in Phosphorous
uptake, stimulating vigorous and healthy root growth. Assists greens
with high levels of organic matter which tend to make Zinc insoluble.
BROADCAST
RATES FOR GREENS, TEES, AND FAIRWAYS
To apply 1 Lb of Potash per 1,000 square feet, apply at the rate of approximately
5.6 lbs. per 1,000 square feet or 4.8 of the 50 lb. bags per acre.
